About Claire
Hi! I am an undergraduate student at Barnard College, Columbia University studying Neuroscience on the pre-health track. My curiosity and love of learning have led me to continue learning each day as a STEM student and undergraduate researcher. I enjoy working with others, so I truly find tutoring exciting and fulfilling.
I have over 3 years of tutoring experience, and I work to instill a love of learning in each student I work with. I enjoy helping students overcome obstacles and learn to work through difficult problems, so I am dedicated to creating a supportive environment as a tutor.

I believe in interactive learning, so I typically structure my lessons around practice problems. Instead of rote memorization, I help students understand the essence of the material, while also providing tricks to help students remember important details. I work to provide a supportive space to facilitate learning, and I encourage mistakes and trial and error.
Using my extensive background in neuroscience and the neural mechanisms of learning, I implement the latest science-based learning methods. I am very flexible and able to adapt my lessons based on the needs of each student.
Lessons available for K-12 students in mathematics (algebra, pre-calculus, statistics, geometry, etc.). I will provide practice problems, feedback and notes, optional homework problems, and test-taking tips.
