About Marie

As a graduate student in neuroscience with a genuine passion for teaching, I bring both academic excellence and real classroom experience to my tutoring practice. Beyond my extensive tutoring background, I've served as a teaching assistant for biology and physiology courses at prestigious institutions including the University of Toronto and McGill University. About the lesson

I'm a graduate student in Neuroscience with extensive tutoring experience dating back to grade 10. Throughout my journey, I've had the privilege of working with reputable companies like Prep Academy and others, teaching math and sciences from grade 4 all the way through the final year of undergraduate studies.

My teaching philosophy centers on solidifying foundational knowledge and developing individualized test-taking strategies tailored to each student's unique learning style. I believe in making meaningful connections between academic concepts and students' personal interests, creating a learning experience that truly resonates with them.

I specialize in working with students who have developmental and behavioural disorders, providing the patience, understanding, and specialized approaches these learners deserve. Additionally, I offer comprehensive SAT and AP test preparation to help students excel on these crucial exams.

The results speak for themselves: most of my students who begin with average scores of 50-70% graduate with over 90% in their subjects. This dramatic improvement comes from combining solid foundational work with the strategic test-taking techniques I developed when achieving perfect scores on Quebec's governmental math and science exams during high school.

Beyond academics, I strive to be like a big sister to my students. I take the time to understand their struggles in depth, creating a supportive environment where they feel comfortable expressing their challenges and celebrating their victories. This personal connection allows me to help each student in the most effective way possible, addressing not just their academic needs but also building their confidence and love for learning.
