About Clara
Do you remember that kid you went to school with who loved languages and dreamed of travelling the world? Well, they're all grown up and have become a language tutor!
Yes, that's me! I'm Clara, I am a Spanish/French PGCE graduate with 5+ experience in the languages classroom and I come from Spain. Therefore, apart from being a native speaker, I am also a qualified teacher with QTS and vast experience teaching a variety of age groups and educational contexts. I came to the UK in 2013 to finish my university studies and I loved it so much in here I started working as a language assistant, preparing students for their A Level and GCSE exams. Language teaching became such a passion for me that I decide it to qualify as a language teacher in 2016, and I have been teaching since.
As well as experience in the classroom, both in groups and 1 to 1 tuition lessons, I am also quite confident teaching online, and I am skilled delivering engaging online lessons through Zoom, Teams, Skype and more.

Spanish language is in! If you think about it, you can find it everywhere nowadays: in your favourite songs, shows, films... That's where I love to get my resources. I like to use a combination of traditional tried-and-tested resources such as textbooks along with up-to-date news and trends in the Spanish-speaking world. The main thing I want my students to learn is that the Spanish language is very much alive, and its life is very exciting!
I have mostly worked in the secondary/sixth-form sector, but I have also taught adult and university lessons, so you can be sure I have experience in different age groups, and I am able to accommodate to your needs.
The first thing we will do when we meet in our lesson is talk about your aspirations: what would you like to achieve? Whatever your aims, whether is get a higher grade in your exams or simply just learn a new language and culture, I will be able to adapt our lessons to your needs.
We will also talk about your experience learning languages as well as your learning style. Everyone has a way of learning that works for them, and I am happy to be flexible and adapt to it. And if you still don't know what works, we'll discuss what didn't work and find what better suits you. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable in our lessons and you make progress, so flexibility is something I'm not afraid of!
