Many students struggle with essay writing because they were never taught how to turn their ideas into words and organize them effectively. I understand what teachers are looking for in a strong paper—knowledge I’ve gained from years of tutoring and working with students at different levels. My approach is to break down essay writing into the simplest, most understandable steps, focusing on clarity, structure, and confidence-building.
I adapt each lesson to the student’s current skill level, ensuring they develop a strong foundation in writing skills and understand how to approach different essay types. I also teach structured methods for common assignments, including: summaries, analysis essays, comparative pieces, research papers, and literary commentaries. During drafting, I often provide thesis suggestions and show students how to strengthen arguments, organize ideas effectively, and improve their writing flow.
My most commonly tutored areas include high school and middle school English, essay writing for English First Peoples, English Studies, Humanities, and university personal profile applications. I always aim to explain feedback thoroughly, ensuring students walk away not only with a better paper but also with a solid understanding of why specific changes were made. My ultimate goal is to empower students to become more independent and confident writers in the future.
