About Krista

Back in high school, I was just like you. I struggled to pass my classes. I was too scared to speak up in class and say I didn't understand the material. When I went to college I decided I wanted to change. I studied hard, I met with my professors, and I actually learned. I went from a C average student in high school to a straight A student, and I learned something important. I was never dumb; I just needed help. Neither are you.

I am a good tutor because I understand what it's like to be frustrated and to be treated like you're lazy or dumb. I will not do that to you. I am here to support you and actually teach you in the way that you can understand. Everyone has a different learning style and together we will find yours. I cannot emphasize this enough: you are not dumb. You just need to be taught in a way that you can understand.

About the lesson

I teach a variety of subjects in a way that is fun and engaging. My ultimate goal in our lessons together is to help you understand the material at a deep fundamental level. I don't want you to just memorize the answers, I want you to understand why and how we got to the answer. And I will do it in a way that is so painless you'll learn the material without even realizing it.

Do you need help writing an essay? Did you know that you don't need to start with the intro? Sometimes it's helpful to put down all the points that you want to get to in the body of your essay and then write the intro and conclusion last. Then I will teach you how to tie it all together.

Do you struggle with how we got that answer in math? Let's start with the answer and walk back, figuring out each step backwards until we understand how we started with that equation and ended with our answer.

Learning happens in all kinds of ways and we will find the best method for you.
