About Alastair
Hello!
My name is Alastair and I am an English teacher of British origin. I am originally from Newcastle upon Tyne, a city in the north of England, but I moved to the north of France 3 years ago. I graduated from the University of Oxford where I obtained a BA in Music and an MA in Music Composition.
I have been working as an English teacher for three years, first at Colleges Bayard and Turgot in Denain as a language assistant and then at the Université Polytechniques Hauts de France as an English "reader", where my educational goal was to teach students oral skills, but also to advance them in other areas such as critical thinking.

It was my passion for foreign languages and my desire to discover other cultures that motivated me to move to France. My teaching methodology aims to instill this enthusiasm in the student by bringing the English language and culture to life. Thus, during the lessons we will immerse ourselves in the language, using it as much as possible so that you get used to the challenge of expressing yourself and understanding in the language! For all levels, the courses will focus on real life situations, and will also introduce relevant cultural themes.
I aim to also offer you the courses that suit your specific goals, so don't hesitate to ask me if you have any ideas already in mind of what you want to learn!
