About Susana
I am a social researcher from Peru, where I have lived most of my life. I am fully bilingual and as a result I started tutoring school children when I was at university as an extra way of making money. Once I graduated I continued tutoring school children and started tutoring adults who went to Peru and wanted to learn more Spanish and about the culture. My experience teaching both children and adults is that conversation is key as it combines listening and speaking. Many times learning a new language can be very passive and the most important part of learning a new language is practicing it which can be inhibiting. I like to make my students feel safe to make mistakes and to focus on communicating rather than focusing on perfection. The most important part of language is effective communication not perfection.
