About Dr Anneke
As a German and EFL tutor, I've taught and coached learners of all ages and abilities, with a particular focus on GCSE, A-level, and undergraduate level. But I also love working with adult learners, whether you're returning to study, changing career, or simply pursuing a subject you've always been curious about.
My teaching method adapts to each learner. Sometimes that means hands-on, project-based work. Other times it's inquiry-led discussion or experiential learning. The common thread is that you — not the syllabus — drive the approach.
Beyond the classroom, I bring more than a decade of experience in online and blended learning, including creating digital learning content from scratch.
But here's what really matters to me: one-to-one tuition lets me build a genuine relationship with you. That trust is what makes it possible to teach in a way that's truly tailored to how you think, learn, and grow.

My qualifications are all from UK institutions — both my PGCE and PhD from the University of Exeter. I spent several years working in the British school system and conducted doctoral-level research on primary and secondary education in English schools. During this time, I also co-authored a student textbook and a CPD handbook for teachers and teacher educators.

Hello! My name is Anneke. I am an educational expert, writer, and qualified teacher with two decades of experience in the Language sector. As a bilingual (German/English) speaker, I teach Modern Foreign Languages with a focus on German and English as a Foreign Language (EFL):
• Grammar & literacy
• Reading comprehension
• Listening comprehension
• Conversation
I also provide language lessons for GCSE/A-level exam preparation and tutor university students who want to improve their German and English reading, writing, and communication skills.
As a personal learning coach, I help students develop their learning skills so they can apply the methods we practise together across all curriculum subjects and other areas of life.
