About Catherine
I have spoken French since I was little, as my mother is French.
My main experience in teaching is my role as French prefect in Year 13, where I tutored GCSE students every week for 3 months, in particular focusing on their speaking and fluency. I have also studied French to a high level, achieving an A* at GCSE and an A at A-level.
I have also studied History to a high level, having achieved an A* at both GCSE and A-level, and I am currently studying it at university. Through this, I have gathered a variety of knowledge and a strong grounding in essay writing and structure.

I would love to tutor students around KS3 level or GCSE level, and I am open to teaching primary school pupils too.
In both history and French, I believe it is important not only to focus on information that needs to be learnt, but also how to apply it best.
For example in French, I like to focus on students achieving a certain level of natural flow and fluency to both speaking and writing alongside the compulsory curriculum, as this not only helps in them in real-life situations, but also will make their work stand out in exams.
In history, I think it is essential to understand the structure of your essay and paragraphs (i.e. point, evidence, evaluation, conclusion) to best achieve a solid and evidence-backed argument, and to use your information the most effectively.
