About Shirley
I teach English as a second language since 2006. I teach private lessons in groups of one to four. Then I worked in a large company teaching "Business English" to its staff in groups of 25. Since 2014 I have taught children and primary school in a private academy. I have valuable experience in exam preparation, class planning, workshops and summer school. My lessons are based on teaching English through speech, in the same way that we learned our mother tongue. For adults, I usually use a worksheet as the basis for a conversation topic and give writing assignments to the task using their new vocabulary / grammar. For those who study for a specific exam, we concentrate on the subjects of previous exams and their curriculum. With Infants and early learners it's time to have fun in English; singing, dancing, coloring and reading with lots of action by the students and myself.
