My Approach to Tutoring I teach in a calm, clear and structured way, focusing on the individual needs of each learner. I break down language into simple steps and use real-life examples so students can understand quickly and build confidence. My lessons include speaking, reading, writing and grammar, with plenty of guided practice. I also use exam-style tasks for learners preparing for Entry Levels, Level 1 or Level 2, so they know exactly what to expect. Every student receives personalised feedback and a clear plan for progress. Teaching Techniques and Methodology I use a mix of communicative language teaching, modelling, guided practice and short, focused tasks. I check understanding regularly and adapt the lesson immediately if a student needs extra support or challenge. I help learners notice their mistakes in a positive way and show them how to correct themselves. My aim is always to build independence, accuracy and confidence. Lesson Length Most lessons are 60 minutes, but I also offer 90-minute sessions for faster progress or exam preparation. Longer lessons give time for skills work, feedback and a short review at the end. Qualifications and Experience I am a native UK English speaker based in London with 20 years’ teaching experience in colleges and community education. I teach EFL and ESOL from beginner level up to Level 2, and all of my students last year achieved a pass. I have extensive experience supporting learners from many language backgrounds, including adults returning to study.
