About Layne

I was born and raised in British Columbia, Canada, and I have the advantage of a Canadian accent which is one of the most easily understood accents in the English-speaking world. I am certified to teach English as a foreign language.

About the lesson

I can help you realize your English language goals for career or social advancement with lessons that are designed for you.

Some students need to develop their vocabulary in a very specific area such as travel, health care, finance, or technology.

I am familiar with the American and British variants of English for learners who must deal with organizations or business associates on both sides of the Atlantic.

Certain sounds in English may not be used in the learner's native language.
Whether they are Italian, Brazilian, or Chinese, students have their own individual pronunciation challenges. That is why pronunciation, word stress, and the rhythm of spoken English is a big component of lessons.

I also emphasize the importance of phrasal verbs, idiomatic expressions, and slang that are a huge part of communicating comfortably in English.

If you are an intermediate or advanced English speaker, I am a fantastic teacher.

Layne is my grandson, and I've known him all his life.
He is a fine young man, who has a passion for language and experience teaching Water Safety and tutoring maths. He regularly taught water safety/swimming lessons for 3 years, and was a personal math tutor in High School. He managed to keep his students engaged with his lessons even when they were young children.
He is the most well-spoken person I have ever known, and has a very good vocabulary and knowledge of the English Language.
I am sure he will succeed in this newest teaching adventure.
