About Aanya
Hi! I’m currently studying Law at Durham University, and I’m originally from Singapore. Languages have always been close to my heart, and my passion for English grew even stronger during the IB, where I studied English at Higher Level. I am very familiar with its structure, marking criteria, and expectations. Exploring literature, language, and communication has shaped the way I think and express ideas, and it’s something I love sharing with others.
Alongside my studies, I’ve volunteered to teach English to underprivileged students, which has been one of the most rewarding experiences for me. It taught me how to adapt lessons to different learning styles, build confidence in students, and make learning both engaging and supportive.
I aim to create a friendly and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable practising English, asking questions, and improving at their own pace. Whether you want to strengthen grammar, improve writing, or build confidence in speaking, I’d love to help you on your learning journey!

I believe learning works best when it is engaging. My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals—whether that’s improving grades, preparing for exams, or building confidence in English.
I can break down complex concepts into simple, clear explanations. I can help in essay structuring and writing guidance (especially useful for IB students). I can also provide interactive discussions to improve fluency and critical thinking.
