About Sharon
I am an ambivert who likes to read books, travel and try new foods. I am quite curious and fearless. After high school I pursued a degree in Human Resources Management because I have always wanted to work with people because I like the variety of experiences that come in this field, it never gets boring.
As someone who studied the black book of professionalism - and later had to reinforce it- I have come to understand that we can be kind and stern and still be professional. That has changed how I manage my interpersonal relationships. I am able to make people comfortable and at ease, this helps me to deliver my tutoring in an effective manner. I am a firm believer that you do not have to be under pressure or stress to learn.
I hold myself to a high standard and I am goal oriented and self-motivated.

Our first meeting is the opportunity that I take to have a thorough discussion with you about your goals, and where I assess what your learning style so that I can make lesson plans that are both effective and efficient.
I am a native English speaker, I speak 6 other South African languages but I am the most proficient in English.
I have a 120-hour TEFL certificate and I have taught online before. I have a rather informal approach to teaching English and the reason for that is that I have seen better results when I teach using everyday conversational language and on topics that interest the student as opposed to the traditional classroom with lessons plans that have to cater to many different learning styles.
I teach business and travel English at basic, intermediate and advanced levels . I majored in Human Resources Management and I am an avid traveller and reader, and I have gathered ample knowledge in both business and travel that I want to share that with others.
