About Allene
I started unofficially tutoring English to fellow students during my last year of secondary school, so I have a lot of experience in trying to help others learn and the way to approach those who might be struggling. As exams approached, the opportunity to help came and I was quick to volunteer. I took my passion for talking to new people and my love of the English language and combined the two, allowing me to tutor online and meet people from all over the world! I grew up in London, England in a very diverse and multicultural area of the city where I met a lot of my long term friends. My best friend is Italian and barely spoke/understood English when she first arrived, but with my help and guidance she is now fluent. I have been tutoring in a professional capacity for just under a year, but have already gained many skills to continue tutoring those whose native language isn't English. I am a patient and kind tutor who will always allow you to work at your own pace.

I believe one of the most important aspects of learning a language is to have fun! This is why I encourage my students to use their hobbies and interests as a way to incorporate English into their daily lives so they become more comfortable with using the language regularly. We will go over what excites and motivates you as a person as well as any career goals you may have, as I've found career progression is often the main reason why students want to learn another language. We can just have general conversation if you'd prefer to test your speaking and listening skills, or more structured lessons where I teach you about grammar rules and basic vocabulary. Though I have interests in many areas, I'm very knowledgeable in the world of Harry Potter, the MCU and professional wrestling (WWE/AEW) and have deep connections with them all and so strongly recommend we get together and discuss any and all of the above whenever it suits you! Please note, I teach 18+ only.
