About Ajuné

My name is Ajuné and I'm an 18-year-old American English speaker. I am also a rising college freshman with intentions to major in psychology and pursue a career in clinical child psychology. I also speak a little bit of Spanish (B1) after studying it for about 7 years in school, and I plan to continue learning in college until I am fluent. I have tutoring experience from Preply.com. I am very excited to help non-native English speakers practice their language skills!

About the lesson

For beginners, I recommend signing up for my vocabulary study sessions. I will help you become more familiar with parts of speech and common English words and phrases. I will also help you understand basic sentence structure and grammar.

My more advanced tutoring is more intensive and focuses more on understanding specific grammar points, e.g. when to use certain verb tenses. I will provide a variety of materials specifically tailored to your individual needs as a language student; these include flashcards, charts, and other interactive activities that will help you practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

My lesson plans are not one-size-fits-all. I create lessons for each individual student based on what they truly need to work on rather than making them review topics that they're already comfortable with. I will also create and assign homework.

I would be honored to be a part of your journey to fluency in English. I am happy to answer questions and gently correct you along the way. I will bring enthusiasm and positivity to each session and do my best to keep you encouraged by celebrating your successes as well as your mistakes.

NOTE: I am conversational in Spanish! If you sometimes need to speak Spanish to ask a question or tell me something, you can, and I will do my best to help. My Spanish isn't perfect (I took advanced classes in high school), but I can speak and understand a decent amount.

Students can book me up to twice a week. My schedule will be different every week, so please chat with me about that! I look forward to meeting and working with you (:
