As a native Chinese speaker with over 3 years of tutoring experience, I offer clear, patient, and structured Mandarin lessons. I'm a PhD researcher based in Christchurch and passionate about helping students gain confidence in both spoken and written Chinese. Lessons are adapted to each learner’s pace and needs.

Teaching approach & class structure:
I provide engaging and interactive Mandarin lessons tailored to students’ needs. My teaching combines conversational practice, pronunciation correction, basic grammar, and cultural context to make learning Chinese both effective and enjoyable. I typically use a bilingual approach (Chinese-English) to support beginners and progressively reduce English use as students improve.
Each lesson lasts around 30 minutes, designed to maintain focus and maximize speaking time. I also provide short review summaries and optional homework upon request.
I have over three years of teaching experience, including private tutoring and classroom-based instruction. My students have ranged from school children to working professionals.
Lessons are suitable for all levels, especially beginners, travelers, language enthusiasts, or those seeking to improve daily conversational Mandarin. Classes can be online or in-person in Christchurch.
