About DANQING

A native Mandarin speaker growing up in Shenzhen, China, I came to the States at 17 to pursue higher education and received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology at UW-Madison. Currently living in Eugene, OR for Waldorf Teacher Training. I've been in the U.S. for over 7 years and have worked with a large number of American students in close interactions for different occasions (internships, classes, friend circles), some of whom speak Chinese. I am an international traveler and am passionate about cultural exchange, and cultivating empathy and understanding through dialogue and relationships.

About the lesson

I orient to students of all ages who have a passion and curiosity for Chinese language and culture.
Class will be student-centered, based on individual students' interest and needs, and will comprise of mostly two-way interactions/dialogue. (and other materials if preferred by the students)
I learn along with the students about my own language and culture as well as theirs together. :)
I may also integrate some wellbeing practice for social emotional wellness facilitation in the class, as I believe that provides the foundation for learning and connections.
