About Aditya
I am a National Level Chess Player with an International FIDE Rating of 1953 and I have been playing competitive chess since the age of 7, for 16+ years. I have participated in national and international FIDE rated tournaments, achieving 45+ tournament wins and multiple podium finishes, including strong performances in events such as the Mumbai Mayor’s Cup International Open etc. My competitive experience has shaped a disciplined and analytical approach to chess, focused on planning, calculation and understanding the intent behind each move. Alongside chess, I am currently pursuing my MBA at Goa Institute of Management, which supports a structured, organized and professional approach to coaching. I offer both individual and group chess coaching and I enjoy working with students of different ages and skill levels to help them build strong fundamentals, analytical thinking and confidence through chess.

My chess classes follow a clear progression from fundamentals to structured thinking, so students do not play moves randomly but understand why each move is played.
For complete beginners, I start with the basics of the game:
the value of pieces, basic checkmates (queen mate, double rook mate, rook mate) and essential principles such as piece development, king safety and controlling the center. Students learn practical ideas like why bishops are stronger in open positions and knights perform better in closed positions, instead of memorizing rules blindly.
Once the fundamentals are clear, I introduce a sound classical opening such as the Ruy Lopez, explaining the ideas behind each move, typical plans and common mistakes. The goal is not to memorize theory, but to help students understand how to develop pieces correctly and think strategically from the opening.
To reduce blunders and improve confidence, tactical training is a core part of every class. Students regularly solve chess puzzles as homework, focusing on patterns like forks, pins, discovered attacks and basic combinations. This helps them spot threats earlier and make fewer tactical errors during games.
Endgames are taught from the basics upward, including king and pawn endgames, which pawn endgames lead to a draw and how to convert simple advantages. As students progress, they learn practical endgames that occur frequently in real games, so they know how to finish games properly instead of guessing.
Throughout the course, students are trained to analyze positions move by move, understand the intent behind the opponent’s moves and develop analytical and strategic thinking that applies both to chess and problem solving in general.

Aditya Paji is a real Ustad no big talks only great coaching. He is a strong coach and is disciplined, no time pass or shortcuts allowed in his class. My daughter Jasmeet was wandering before but now her focus is sharp like a driver on a night route. If you want your children to learn the real chess game with full focus Aditya is the only man for it.
I was in our college female chess team and Ali sir had given the task of selecting the male and female chess team for inter university chess tournament to Aditya since he was the strongest chess player in college. From organizing a smooth selection process to teaching us for a period of 1 month to prepare for the tmt Aditya was a great coach since he taught us more in 1 month than we had ever learned chess. Thank you Aditya
I was at a point where I was ready to quit competitive chess because I felt stuck. I had a solid opening repertoire I'd memorized but then I got totally outplayed in the middlegame or worse survive the complications only to blunder in the endgame. Aditya changed my perspective and taught me opening isnt about memorizing moves but about piece harmony, understanding pawn structures etc. that decide the middlegame plans. We spent weeks on Calculations, prophulaxis which stopped me from panicking when the position got messy. He also taught me technical endgames. He analyzed my actual tournament games and showed me the principle of 2 weaknesses & importance of King activity. Last week in a tournament game at Borivali I converted an equal endgame position because i understood the power of opposition. All the best Sir!
I have been working with sir for a few months now and the biggest change in my game is not only the moves but how I think. He drilled into me the habit of brainstorming candidate moves instead of just reacting, which helped me find much stronger ideas. We have spent a lot of time learning Accelerated Dragon and the Ruy Lopez and I feel like I am selecting the right plans in the middle game. My puzzle rating has also increased by more than 350 points on chess.com and my understanding of the logic behind these systems has improved a lot. I am much more confident in my tournament games and I would definitely suggest him.
I have been taking Online Chess Classes with Aditya Bandekar Sir from my home for about 2 months. We have spent a lot of time on the English Opening and Sicilian Defense and he helped me understand the logic behind the moves and concepts like why Bishops are superior to Knights in open games etc. (I managed to win a tough endgame last week by using the double bishop advantage which we had practiced.) The tactical puzzles he gives me for homework are challenging and have helped me sharpen my Tactical Vision. My rating has already increased by around 150 points in just 8 weeks. If you are looking for a coach who knows Opening Theory & Positional Play I would highly recommend him
