About Tanya
I'm a career educator with 13 years experience teaching middle/high school math and science. My Bachelor's Degree from UNC-Charlotte was in Intermediate Education with a concentration in math and science. I have also privately tutored math students for 10+ years. Also available for ACT and SAT prep.

My approach to teaching is to identify the core skills needed and build from there. Frequently, math students look at a problem and immediately decide they don't know how to solve it. However, I am able to identify the basic skill(s) needed - skills that the student has mastered. Starting from there, I break down the problem and show the student how they do possess the necessary skills. The key is teaching students how to look at a problem and know "what" to do.
