I am Thomas Nguyen, a patient math tutor with five years of classroom assisting experience. My approach is systematic but flexible. You will receive weekly progress notes and unedited feedback. I ask students to verbalize their thinking process while solving a few starter problems. A typical 70-minute session includes a three-minute mental warm-up, twenty minutes of new rule introduction with drawings, twenty-five minutes of collaborative problem-solving, fifteen minutes of solo work with me watching silently, and seven minutes of summarizing key takeaways. What makes me different is linking every formula to a practical scenario — taxes, construction, or video game physics. My students range from fifth graders confused by fractions to nursing students needing dosage calculations and economics majors reviewing regression models.
