About Nyka
Hi! I’m Nyka Rodney, a creative educator, workbook designer, and community art mentor based in Montreal. I studied Applied Human Sciences at Concordia University, where I discovered how art, play, and emotional development can help children grow with confidence and joy. With over 10 years of experience in creative industries and community programs, I’ve worked with children and families through art workshops, storytelling, and themed educational projects. I also have a strong background in graphic design and film production—skills I now use to make learning more visual, fun, and inspiring for kids. My Teaching Methodology I combine art education with emotional learning. My lessons focus on creative expression, vocabulary development, and mindfulness. I use storytelling, color theory, and hands-on crafts to help children connect feelings to art and words. Each child learns differently—so I adapt lessons to their age, learning style, and interests. My holiday workbooks make learning feel like play, blending seasonal themes with reading, writing, and vocabulary exercises from their school curriculum.

Creative Minds Art Lessons with Nyka Bring imagination to life through art! Hi, I’m Nyka, an art educator and workbook creator. My Method: I teach through hands-on art projects that combine creativity, emotional awareness, and academics. My holiday-themed workbooks include the school words children need to study each year, turning learning into fun, confidence-building art time. A Typical Lesson: * Warm-up doodle or mindful coloring * Themed art project (painting, drawing, crafts) * Vocabulary or writing activity tied to their art * Reflection & sharing to boost self-expression What Makes My Classes Unique: I design custom workbooks for my students, adapt lessons for all learning styles, and provide a safe, inclusive, and bilingual (English/French) environment where every child’s creativity shines.
