About Menno

I’m Menno Harman, a Mathematical Sciences graduate from the University of Bath with hands-on experience teaching and mentoring students. During my degree, I delivered a lecture to over 100 Year 8 pupils, explaining advanced maths concepts through interactive activities, an experience that strengthened my ability to make complex ideas engaging and easy to understand. Alongside my academic background, I’ve worked in team-based and client-focused roles, developing clear communication and organisation skills. I now use this experience to create structured, supportive lessons that help students gain confidence and achieve their best in maths.

About the lesson

I aim to make maths clear, confidence-building, and even enjoyable. Every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to their individual needs, breaking tricky topics into simple steps and helping them see the logic behind each idea. Lessons usually last about an hour and include a quick recap, focused practice, and time to tackle problem areas together. I like to keep sessions interactive, encouraging students to ask questions and think through problems rather than just memorising methods. I’ve recently graduated with a degree in Mathematical Sciences from the University of Bath and have experience explaining complex ideas in simple, engaging ways, including delivering lectures to younger students. I teach KS3, GCSE, and A-Level maths to students of all abilities, helping them grow in confidence, improve their results, and enjoy learning again.

Rory was struggling with matrices and linear transformations, so I started off simply with a 2x2 and gradually built up to a 3x3 and all the rules that come with it. Rory was engaged and eager to learn.
