About Cherize

Hello and welcome! My name is Cherize. My students call me Cherry!
I am a qualified and experienced English teacher who works exclusively with adult learners.

I have 13 years of teaching experience, including 8 years of online instruction with students from around the world. I hold a degree in Teaching as well as an Honors degree in Psychology, which allows me to understand not only language development, but also how adults learn most effectively.

I specialize in conversational English, exam preparation, and Business English. I am also a former IELTS examiner, with three years of examining experience, which gives me in-depth insight into how the test is assessed and what examiners are looking for. Over the years, I have helped hundreds of students successfully pass their IELTS exams through structured preparation and targeted feedback.

My lessons are professional, structured, and tailored to each student’s goals. I focus on clear explanations, practical application, and building confidence so that you can use English effectively in real-world situations.

I am committed to maintaining a focused and respectful learning environment, and I take pride in helping my students achieve measurable progress.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is structured, goal-focused, and tailored to each individual student. I use a communicative methodology, meaning students actively use English throughout the lesson while receiving targeted correction and detailed feedback. My background in Psychology helps me adapt to different learning styles and support students in building confidence.

I teach in English and am also proficient in other languages, so I know what it feels like to study a second or third language. Lessons are conducted primarily in English to maximize immersion, with clarification available when needed.

A typical lesson includes structured speaking practice, vocabulary development, pronunciation correction, and focused grammar support. For IELTS and other exam preparation, I provide timed practice, strategy training, and feedback based on official assessment criteria. Business English lessons focus on practical workplace communication skills.

My lessons are designed exclusively for adult learners at intermediate to advanced levels, including professionals, university students, and exam candidates who are serious about achieving measurable results.
