About Alex

I'm Alex, I have been teaching music privately for over 15 years, what began as a way to help fund my lifestyle as a touring musician eventually turned into my career. Since then I have moved into wider education and gained a PGCE to become a qualified teacher. I really enjoy helping others learn and sharing my 20+ years of knowledge of the instruments that I play. With both touring and studio experience I can help you learn to play your instrument to a high standard!

About the lesson

I have a fun and flexible approach to learning to play music, tailoring the session to your interests and needs. I have experience getting clients through grade qualifications using the RSL syllabus, if this is the route you choose to progress. Qualified Teacher with a PGCE and experience in formal education institutions. Lessons are for all ages and experience levels, I have worked in primary schools with children from 6 years old all the way up to private clients of 70 years old. Lessons are usually 1 hour.

Perfect! I've been having lessons for a few months now and found Alex to be a friendly, engaging and patient teacher. He has a lot of technical knowledge and is good at explaining this in an easy to understand way. He is also good with communication for upcoming lessons

Listens well, takes on concepts well and is good putting what he is shown into practice. Main tip for improvement would be frequency of practice at home, just to improve memory and retention of ideas for the next lesson.
