About Duarte
I’m a professional musician and RNCM graduate, where I studied Double Bass Performance. I’ve been studying and performing music for many years, both through my studies and as part of orchestras, and I currently work as a freelance musician. Alongside performing, I’ve gained teaching experience through RNCM projects, youth orchestra programmes and individual lessons.
I enjoy helping people understand music rather than simply memorising rules. Whether you’re starting from scratch, preparing for GCSE or A level, or want to become more confident reading and understanding music, I’m happy to adapt to what you need and explain things in a clear and relaxed way.

My lessons are adapted to each student’s level and goals, from complete beginners learning to read music to students studying Music at GCSE or A level. We can work on reading notes, rhythm, key signatures, scales, intervals, harmony and other areas of music theory, always at a pace that makes sense for you. I want lessons to feel relaxed and practical, while giving you a solid understanding of how music works.
