About Jd
I am a musician(guitarist) and producer based in South London. I have performed live music for over 10 years and produced music for a number of clients. I have a strong musical background in jazz but got into music production through my love of bass music and EDM. I'm and advocate for using your own sounds in your music and I create many of the sounds that I use myself, using synthesis - a skill which I teach and encourage in my lessons.
My aim with students is to give them the tools they need to set themselves free creatively, so that they can enjoy making the music that they want to make.

About the lesson

My lessons will teach you how to create your own professional-sounding song/track from start to finish.
This includes :
- How to write your own great sounding chord progressions and
melodies and the music theory behind them.
- How to write your own drum beats and rhythms.
- How to glue your vocals and other sounds in your track together
and make them sound great using individual/group processing.
- What all the effects such as reverb, delay, saturation, compression
etc. do and how to use them effectively.
- How to synthesize your own sounds and make great sounding
drums, hihats/cymbals, basses, synth instruments and sound
effects.
- How to mix the final track and master it so that it's ready to show
your friends or to upload to a streaming site.
Lesson are 1 hour long and I can teach online, although for the most productive and authentic experience, I recommend that the student come to my home-studio in Clapham Junction.
