About Thomas
So my name is Thomas, although many people call me Tom :)
I am originally from the UK just west of London and studied coastally before moving out to Vancouver. I have worked with my University in Carbon Tax Research, and am similarly moving in my career towards Environmental Economics. I am currently an MSc Student in a top Central London University.
I have Tutored multiple students in both English (Literature and Language) as well as Economics, and am known most in tutoring for my patience and kindness combined.
As for my free time, I have a love of the ocean and am fortunate to live close to the beach. I also collect Bonsai Trees, enjoy painting with family, and play D&D with friends.

My teaching style is adaptable to the needs of the student, however I strongly believe in the following structure for Economics specifically:
-Concept (Fundamentals & Principles, taught depending on style of the student > Visual, Conversational etc.)
-Application (Applying the former to Questions/Examples relevant to the course content or examination)
-Consolidation/Context (Solidifying knowledge through techniques such as repetition, testing, scenario walkthroughs, and applying real-world context.)
It is important that a tutor provides a different academic experience than a teacher can on some level. I aim through 1-1 teaching to build personal trust and provide my undivided attention and patience to the specific needs of each individual.
I prefer to tutor at undergraduate/bachelors degree level, however am certainly willing to teach the right highschool student. Beyond tutoring alone, I can provide these services at rate:
- Research Thesis or Dissertation proof-reading and advisory, particularly for those in their final year of study.
- Essay Structure and Graphical Tutorials for Exam application.
- Post-Learning 'Revision Sheets' specified towards content covered in our last tutoring session for future use.
