About Maria
I am an MPharm degree student with a strong academic background and a genuine passion for helping others succeed. Throughout my studies, I have developed excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, particularly in maths, chemistry, and pharmacy-related subjects.
I am a hardworking, motivated, and high-achieving individual who understands the challenges students can face when learning difficult topics. My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence in their abilities.
I pride myself on being patient, friendly, and approachable. Every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit their individual needs and learning preferences. Whether a student needs help understanding a new concept, preparing for exams, or improving their problem-solving skills, I am committed to helping them achieve their academic goals.

As an MPharm degree student, I aim to make maths, chemistry, and pharmacy calculations clear, structured, and approachable for every student. My teaching style focuses on building understanding first, then developing confidence through guided practice.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged if needed. Lessons usually begin with teaching and explaining key concepts, followed by worked examples. Once the student feels comfortable, we move on to practice questions, where I provide step-by-step guidance and support until they can solve problems independently.
I place a strong emphasis on active learning. Rather than simply giving answers, I encourage students to explain their thinking, identify mistakes, and develop effective problem-solving skills. After practice questions, I provide detailed feedback and use targeted follow-up questions to consolidate any areas of difficulty. This helps students learn from mistakes and improve their confidence over time.
At the end of each lesson, I discuss progress with the student and ask what they found most helpful and what they would like to focus on next time. This allows lessons to be tailored to individual learning styles and goals.
My lessons are suitable for GCSE and A-Level students studying Maths and Chemistry, as well as pharmacy students who need support with pharmacy calculations and pharmaceutical science topics. Whether you are aiming to improve grades, prepare for exams, or strengthen your understanding of challenging concepts, lessons will be adapted to your needs and pace.
