About Leda

When I grabbed the first Hula Hoop, curious to investigate the potential of this perfectly shaped instrument, I could never have imagined how far a simple plastic circle would have brought me!

After my first self-taught steps, I participated in various workshops with international teachers, traveled to conventions (yes, there is a whole community of passionate hoopers around the globe), fueling enthusiasm for my personal practice, until the desire to share with other people was too strong: so I started teaching myself and offering my performances in different contexts.

Every time it is a great emotion to be able to convey my great passion to new students or spectators!
Every time the satisfaction in seeing adults and children give in to the temptation to try my Hula Hoops is irrepressible!

I warn you: it is a highly contagious discipline, and it is addictive!!!

About the lesson

My lessons are personalized and structured according to the back-ground of the students.
I use distinct approaches in the case of dancers, gymnasts, or people who are not particularly sporty: Hooping is for everyone, in the sense that everyone can develop their own style and nurture their own potential, without having to confront standards to be reached, but working on their own strengths.

Generally, I divide the lessons into two parts:
- On-Body, which consists in keeping the circle in the different parts of the body (initially life, later hips, solar plexus, chest, shoulders, neck, knees ...) and represents a true and proper aerobic training, activating blood circulation and burning fats, strengthening at the same time all the muscles (especially the abdominals!), working on balance and improving posture;
- Off-Body, or the moment of greater artistic expression, in which we investigate tricks and variations coming from rhythmic gymnastics, from the circus and from the fluid arts in general, realizing incredible feats of which we did not think we could be capable: in this phase, the learning sequential movements allows you to work on coordination and strengthen the brain, increasing cellular memory. The direct consequence is increased self-esteem and improved mood ... try it!

Meanwhile, we work on combinations of tricks (mini choreographies) and transitions to connect the two families of movements together, discovering how it is possible to access a potentially infinite "flow" that puts them in perfect harmony between their body and instrument.
