About Jayden

I am a committed and passionate second-year engineering student at the University of Auckland, specializing in electrical engineering. With a strong academic record, including NCEA Levels 1, 2, and 3 endorsed with merit, I have a deep understanding of mathematics and physics and a genuine enthusiasm for these subjects. I have also earned an advanced qualification in linear algebra from Johns Hopkins University, further enhancing my knowledge and expertise.

I want to teach because I believe in the power of education to unlock potential. I find great joy in helping others grasp complex concepts and gain the confidence they need to succeed academically. My goal as a tutor is to make these subjects accessible, engaging, and most importantly, enjoyable for students. I am dedicated to supporting high school students, particularly those pursuing NCEA Levels 2 and 3, ensuring they are not only well-prepared for their exams but also develop strong problem-solving skills and a love for learning.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is student-centered, designed to help students build a strong understanding of mathematics and physics through a combination of explanation, problem-solving, and practical application. I prioritize active learning by guiding students through examples and encouraging independent problem-solving, fostering critical thinking and deeper comprehension.

Each lesson typically lasts one hour, though I am flexible with timing based on the student's needs. I specialize in tutoring high school students pursuing NCEA Levels 2 and 3 (ages 14-18) and focus on helping them excel in these areas. With qualifications including NCEA Levels 1, 2, and 3 endorsed with merit and an advanced qualification in linear algebra from Johns Hopkins University, I am passionate about supporting students to achieve their academic goals.

I believe the best way to achieve high grades is through focused practice with past exam and test questions. This helps students not only understand the theory but also become familiar with the types of questions they will encounter. By practicing exam-style problems, students develop both their knowledge and test-taking skills, ensuring they are well-prepared and confident for assessments.
