About Morgan
I am a senior in college and have been tutoring for about one year. I have tutored college students in the following subjects: Chemistry, Statistics and Writing. Elementary and Middle school students in Language Arts or Math. The success rate of those that I tutored on campus have been passing grades of
(B, B+, B+, A, A, A-), referrals, and a better understanding of that particular subject as they applied it to other related courses. In regards to those that I have tutored in Elementary and Middle School, they are more confident in their academic performance/knowledge in the subject.

I am a visual learning so, I try to draw or write everything out. When I am solving a math problem, I omit the details and keep the numbers that are relevant to the problem. For example, if the problem was Sarah had 20 apples and gave 4 apples to Missy, how many apples does she have now. The approach that I would use for this problem is to remove everything that is not relevant to the problem, such as "apples", "Missy" and "Sarah". Another way that I would approach this problem is to draw 20 circles and cross out 4. The reason why I choose these methods is because students can sometimes get lost in the details of the problem and also understand that everyone learns differently so adjusting helps to minimize frustration especially if they are learning something new.
My approach to Language Arts is that I tell those that I am tutoring to put themselves in the place of the reader. When I am writing, editing or proof reading my own papers, I want to check that my paper has clarity, good grammar, sentence structure and a compelling argument which varies on the writing prompt. Throughout the years, I learned that writing is not just about condensing all of our ideas or knowledge in a few paragraphs or pages and that it can be helpful as it enhances our ability to think critically and challenges us which is a very useful life skill.
