About Nabeel
My personal journey involves attempting the MMI twice, embarking on a profound journey of self-discovery after not getting accepted into Medical School the first time and then completing my BSc in Psychology. Ultimately pursuing a Masters Degree and graduating top of my programme (95% Thesis, 8.42GPA Overall)
Prior to being a Medical Student at the University of Auckland, I gained valuable industry experience with Johnson & Johnson. I contributed to the development of a physical health program tailored for individuals with severe mental illness. I worked with Health Professionals, Mental Health Nurses, and Industry Professionals. Effective communication skills were essential.
Over the span of 6.5 years in pursuit of my dream to study medicine, and one day practice surgery, I navigated through countless interviews, cultivated and sustained professional relationships, gained insights into the realities of the professional world, and uncovered the essence of who I truly am. Reflecting on my journey, I confronted questions about why I am pursuing medicine? Is this what I truly want? Grappled with adversity, and emerged stronger than ever.
Throughout this process, I engaged with and maintained relationships with a diverse range of individuals, including doctors, medical students, surgeons, nurses, health professionals, lecturers, and academic staff. These interactions have not only enriched my understanding of the healthcare field but have also shaped my perspective on the multifaceted aspects of the medical profession.

I firmly believe in first-principle teaching, particularly when it comes to excelling in interviews. Instead of offering generic interview responses or superficial techniques for improvement (the icing on the cake), my approach involves collaborating with you to reveal the most authentic version of yourself.
I aim to assist you in cultivating enduring characteristics and perspectives highly esteemed in healthcare professionals. Our focus will be on developing maturity and fostering the right outlook on crucial attributes such as empathy, open-mindedness, compassion, leadership, social responsibility, critical thinking, and more. My goal is to guide you in actualising deeper levels of self-discovery, enabling you to showcase your unique qualities. We will then work on allowing you to develop excellent communication and presentation skills to ensure that interviewers can grasp your uniqueness within the limited timeframe of MMI sessions.
Rather than molding yourself into a persona solely designed to impress interviewers (a common pitfall), our strategy revolves around shaping your identity so that the "real you" is genuinely the type of individual interviewers would ultimately want to work with one day.
Our 5 Step Plan for Success:
1. Evaluating your perspectives and worldviews: Unlocking the authentic you.
2. Building maturity and genuineness through introspective thinking.
3. Developing traits valued in a medical professional.
4. Developing excellent communication skills to convey your unique identity.
5. Practice, Practice, Practice.

Details
Ideally five 2 hour preparation practice sessions (10 hours total) with me should build a fundamental base to build up from. From there, practice with your friends and peers is heavily encouraged. At least 1 hour of practice per week over 10 weeks minimum.
Adequate space is given between each practice session to offer room for introspection, reflection and application of the qualities you aim to emulate.
The earlier you prepare for the MMI the better, the lessons you take from MMI preparation if done correctly are life long, within medicine or whatever career you decide to pursue if this doesn't work out. Proper MMI practice will genuinely make you a better more centred human being, one that knows themselves. Therefore, the more practice the better! Especially if you're fresh out of high school.
