About Allycia
I am a National Board Certified teacher with a Master’s in Education and 14 years of classroom experience. I have taught both middle school math and science and currently serve as a Science Department Chair. I believe every student is capable of success when they are given the right explanation, support, and encouragement. My goal is to create a comfortable, positive environment where students can ask questions, build confidence, and truly understand what they are learning.

My approach is centered on figuring out where a student is getting stuck and finding a different way to make it click. With 14 years of teaching experience, I know that students learn differently, so I use visuals, real-world examples, modeling, questioning, and guided practice rather than simply repeating the same explanation.
A typical session begins with a quick check of what the student already understands. We then work through the challenging concept together, practice it with support, and finish with the student independently applying what they learned.
What sets me apart is my experience as a National Board Certified teacher with a Master’s in Education who has taught both middle school math and science. I understand curriculum, assessment, differentiation, and how to make complex ideas approachable.
I primarily tutor middle school math and science students, including students who need extra support, want to strengthen foundational skills, or are ready for an additional challenge.
