About Matt
I have a degree in marine science, concentration in marine biology. and a Masters in Teaching, concentration in middle grades science and math. I have spent 12 years working tin the professional aquarium setting as an aquarist before transitioning into teaching for the past 5 years in middle school. I have three kids of my own, 1 in high school and the other two are 4 and 2 years old. My wife is also a high school science teacher. She teaches honors chemistry and AP Environmental Science. I am also certified to teach through high school sciences as well.

I will start my individual lessons by getting to know the student and discussing what their strengths and weaknesses are and where I can help. The lessons will be targeted towards specific standards. I will pull in multiple types of representations for the science or math topics. Videos, slides, demonstrations, problem solving, examples, reading passages, test taking strategies, to name a few.
