About Amanda
Art is a passion and a talent but it is also a skill that can and should be honed and developed.
Classically trained under Michael Grimaldi at the New York Academy of Art, I initially learned to draw from a storied illustrator and animator and spent years as a designer and creative director for national and international brands. This background resulted in a breadth of visual knowledge and a mastery of a range of skills from classical oil painting, to anatomy to color theory, composition and conceptual thinking.
My work has won many awards is shown in galleries around the world and I can help you develop a portfolio that gets you into top art school—or top galleries.

Level up your skills without losing your unique style. I offer classical atelier training in drawing, in tandem with expressive, individualized artist development. Students learn to capture their subjects masterfully and accurately in their own voice. I also specialize in portfolio development and art school admissions and artist coaching and development.
An award-winning figurative artist showing nationally and internationally, I have an MFA in Drawing from the New York Academy of Art with concentrations in Anatomy and Printmaking and a BFA in Illustration from Parsons School of Design.
I am an adjunct drawing professor at the New York Academy of Art and have taught advanced painting at Interlochen Arts Camp.
Long-listed for the World Illustration Awards in the category of children’s publishing I am an accomplished illustrator and former designer and creative director.
Working one on one I can help you overcome artist blocks, develop exceptional skills allowing you to paint or draw anything and help you develop a successful personal or professional art practice.
