About Mia

I am currently a Neuroscience and Psychology Student at King's College London.

In 2025 I got an A* in A-level Psychology, an A* in Sociology and an A* in Business.

I have previously mentored for A-level Psychology for a year and got my mentee from a grade D to a grade A in a few months!
I am currently doing group tuition for GCSE Science and Maths

I really enjoy tutoring and I understand that everybody has a different way of learning, therefore I will adapt my teaching style to your specific preferences!

Having lots of experience in tutoring, I am very good at explaining and breaking down complex material to give an understanding of the topic.

I will also explain and create revision timetables for students to manage their time during exam season, to ensure you are getting enough revision and rest in.

Regular feedback is very important, therefore when doing practice questions, I will make clear what my students got wrong, why it is wrong and what they can do to improve their answer to get a higher grade. I will also explain to them what examiners want to see to get those top grades!

Aside from this, I am also a very kind, caring and genuine person and will always have your best interest at heart!

My teaching method involves active recall, lots of engagement and interacting, thorough explanations, essay plans and working through practice questions to get an understanding of exam technique and the mark scheme.
Unlike other tutors who may be passive, I prioritise engagement and active recall throughout my lessons.

My lessons are for those studying at A-level or GCSE Psychology.

Getting an A* in A-level Psychology myself, I have lots of tips and tricks on how to get your grade up to an A/A* !

I have thorough knowledge on exam technique, writing the perfect essay and knowing what examiners want from you, as well as psychological knowledge, studies and research methods.

Typical lesson plan:
- Foundation- firstly I will get an idea of your current understanding of psychology, what topics you find tricky and what grade you are working at right now, as well as what grade you want to work towards. (15 mins)
- Explanation- We will go through one of the topics that you are confused on, I will demonstrate it by breaking it down into simple steps. (15 mins)
- Active recall- I will then test your memory of what we have just discussed by asking you specific questions about the topic. (10 mins)
- Exam technique- We will look at some practice questions on that topic, you will answer the question and I will show you the improvements you can make to your answer to score a higher mark (20 mins)

In my previous mentoring experience for A-level Psychology, I helped my mentee go from a grade D to a grade A within a few months!
