About Maya
I am currently a medical school student and previously did an undergraduate degree in biomedical science. I’ve been a tutor for 5 years now, since I was in high school, and worked as an assistant instructor at my university teaching first-year chemistry for 2 years while in my undergrad. I completed my undergraduate degree with a final GPA of 3.96 and am able to tutor biology and chemistry at both the high school and university level.

My teaching methods are based on psychologically proven methods, specifically retrieval practice, which I find very beneficial for biology, as well as interleaving concepts to form new connections and to better understand rather than memorize large amounts of information. I think it’s really important to learn how to study properly and how to mentally prepare yourself for tests, along with how to maximize your efforts when learning content, especially under stress.
