How I like to teach is really tailored to my tutee. At the end of a lesson, I will give out extra worksheets on the topics just covered and ask exactly what they would like to cover next time. Then, at the start of the following session, we will go through those worksheets and address any concerns to make sure that they have really understood the content. I have found this to work really well. One of my students improved from achieving constant 3s and 4s to a 6 in their GCSE maths exam!
