About Rafa

Hi! I’m a friendly and enthusiastic medical student at King’s College London who genuinely enjoys teaching and helping students reach their potential.

I achieved 999 in GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics, alongside 9s and 8s across my other subjects, and achieved 99 in both English Language and Literature, including almost full marks in Literature. I have over a year of tutoring experience at Talent Pool Academy, teaching GCSE and primary students in both 1-to-1 and group settings, as well as experience tutoring in a school.

I understand that every student learns differently, so I always aim to make my lessons supportive, engaging and tailored to the individual. I want students to not only improve their grades, but also become more confident and independent learners.

About the lesson

My English lessons are tailored to each student’s ability, goals and areas for improvement. I achieved grades 9,9 in both GCSE English Language and Literature, including almost full marks in Literature, so I have a strong understanding of what is needed to achieve the highest grades.

I focus on developing students’ confidence, essay structure, analysis, use of quotations, vocabulary and exam technique. I also teach students how to approach different question types, understand mark schemes and structure their answers effectively to maximise their marks.

Lessons are relaxed, supportive and interactive, with plenty of opportunities to practise questions and receive personalised feedback. Whether you’re aiming for a top grade or simply want to build your confidence, I’ll adapt each lesson to your individual needs.

Hey

Rafa is a great tutor who is patient, friendly, and easy to learn from. She explains things clearly and makes students feel comfortable asking questions. She’s supportive and encouraging, which helps build confidence and makes learning feel less stressful. I’d definitely recommend her as a tutor.
