About Karisma
Teaching is really exciting for me and I have gathered a lot of experience from mentoring at school, which means that I am used to working with younger students and I have also worked closely with children as a volunteer for a charity. It has not been long since I have taken these exams and I know the specifications and mark schemes well. I am patient, friendly and approachable, and look forward to sharing my love for these subjects with others and I hope I can persuade my students into enjoying them as well!

Hi, my name is Karisma and I study Medicine at the University of Leeds.
As a medical student, it is my passion to help others and with a track record of obtaining excellent results at GCSE and A level, I have the experience required to tutor a student into achieving their goals. I have A*s in GCSE Maths and all three sciences and have achieved A*A*A in Biology, Chemistry and Maths at A Level. I have also studied Further Maths to AS level so my knowledge of maths is extensive. Aside from my studies, I am part of a university dance society and worked as its treasurer. I also enjoy martial arts and have a black belt in it.
In my first session, I will talk to my student to find out what they like and dislike about their subject, their current performance and what they want to achieve. After creating a progress plan, I'll use the future sessions with my students to go through the topics they struggle on and keep their current knowledge up to date. I'll make sure that they have covered every single line in the specification. Constant revision is key and if need be, I might give my students some work to do in their spare time that they can then go over with me in the next session to speed up their progress.
I will involve several past papers into my teaching, as I feel like it is the best kind of revision. With my guidance, I hope my students will hopefully know their subject area a lot better and will be able to deliver confident and accurate answers in their exams to bag the grades they need!
