About Leonardo

I am a medical student at MSU College of Human medicine who is offering tutoring sessions at all levels in the fields of biology/biochemistry. I have obtained a substantial level of knowledge and tutoring experience via my bachelor's degree in B.S Honors Biology W/ Applied Genetics Concentration which I achieved at the highest of honors (Summa Cum Laude - Top 10%) at my university. My 98 percentile score on the Biological and Biochemical Foundation of Living Systems section of the MCAT in 2020 is also proof of my knowledge base. I have had prior tutoring experience as a teaching assistant for a variety of classes in my university.

About the lesson

My technique isn't to lecture you to boredom as most professors do, but rather to engage you in a conversation centered around the topic. In other words, I will not just simply explain it to you and leave, but rather engage you in a back-and-forth conversation about the concept/topic until you have a better grasp of it. My teaching approach is to draw/diagram/animate the material as much as possible for the student as I explain the concept or topic at hand. Zoom will be used in online tutoring sessions, where I will screenshare my tablet's whiteboard as I draw and diagram anything I discuss with the student. A screenshot of this whiteboard can be made available to the student so that they may look at it and study it later.

Details

Tutoring Sessions cannot be offered until AFTER payment of the session is received. Every student is eligible for a one-time free lesson of 30 minutes before choosing to pay for future lessons. Below is the breakdown for pricing:

-In-Person Session (I come to you or we meet up) - $15 per hour
-In-Person Session (you come to me) - $12 per hour
-Online Sessions - $12 per hour

5 hours for $50
10 hours for $100
(Essentially, if you choose this route the monthly rate comes out to be $10 rather than $12-15)
