About Damian
I am a Mechatronics Engineering student at the University of Guelph and a recent graduate of the regional I-STEM program at Elsie MacGill Secondary School. Over three years as an official high school peer tutor and I-STEM ambassador, I have mentored more than 10 students, helping many boost their overall averages by up to 20% (such as moving from a 75% to a 95% average).
My approach is very simple, I keep sessions relaxed and low stress, but I always come in with a clear plan. Having recently gone through the Ontario secondary curriculum myself, I understand where students get stuck, how tests are structured, and how to help you excel in class.

As a Mechatronics Engineering student and former I-STEM peer tutor, I offer relaxed yet structured math and physics tutoring designed for middle and high school students (Grades 6–12) looking to build confidence and boost their grades significantly. I strongly prioritize student wellbeing by fostering a low stress, encouraging space where asking questions is welcomed and mistakes are treated as a normal part of learning.
What sets my approach apart is a focus on active learning over passive lecturing. I teach concepts through direct application and interactive visual tools like Desmos. Every 1-hour session is intentionally planned around a quick 5-to-10-minute concept refresher to review core rules, followed by 50 ish minutes of guided, hands on practice working through actual assignment and exam style problems step by step. I strongly believe that the best way to learn is by doing, and my lessons reflect that philosophy.
