I aim to tailor sessions uniquely to the needs and ability of each pupil. This ensures that every student gets the most out of their sessions and has a comfortable learning environment in which they can ask questions and advance their knowledge.
I am an extremely approachable and friendly person which I believe is important so that my students are not afraid to flag up any areas they are struggling with and ask questions which may expand on parts of their course. I am also very patient and will happily recap topics as many times as necessary to ensure the student has a firm understanding of concepts covered and can apply these to examination questions.
In my tutoring sessions, I guide students through a mixture of examination style questions and review of the main concepts they must know for their chosen course. This ensures that the student knows the fundamentals of their chosen subject while giving them the opportunity to apply these concepts to real examination topics. This approach aims to cement the students knowledge and identify which areas need more work. I also aim to give students, if requested, additional homework to ensure their understanding is maintained beyond the session.
