About Liza
Hello! I'm Liza, a Mechanical Engineering graduate with a genuine passion for Physics and Mathematics. I enjoy breaking down complex concepts into simple, easy-to-understand explanations that help students build lasting confidence.
I decided to start tutoring because I know that many students find Physics and Maths challenging, often because they are taught through memorization rather than true understanding. My goal is to make learning less stressful, more interactive, and enjoyable by helping students develop strong concepts and confidence.
My teaching style is student-centered and highly interactive. I encourage students to ask as many questions as they need, because I believe curiosity is one of the best ways to learn. I begin by explaining concepts step by step, then work through examples together before moving on to guided practice and exam-style questions. This approach helps students understand not only how to solve problems but also why each method works.
I believe that patience, preparation, and clear communication are the foundation of effective teaching. Every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to suit their individual learning pace and goals. Every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to the student's current level, learning style, and academic goals. Rather than encouraging memorization, I focus on helping students understand the underlying concepts first, making it easier for them to solve problems independently and retain what they learn.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous concepts and an assessment of any difficulties the student is facing. I encourage students to ask questions throughout the lesson because I believe an interactive classroom leads to deeper understanding. Once the concept is clear, we work through solved examples together before moving on to guided practice and exam-style questions to reinforce learning and build confidence.
Before every lesson, I prepare according to the student's syllabus, curriculum, and learning objectives to ensure that each session is focused, organized, and productive. I also provide tips on problem-solving techniques, common mistakes to avoid, and effective exam strategies whenever appropriate.
