About Jacob
I’m a mechanical engineer, Navy veteran, and lifelong math nerd who honestly enjoys math more than engineering.
I moved through math pretty quickly in school—Algebra II as a freshman, tested out of trigonometry, precalculus that same year, then Calculus I/AP Calculus as a sophomore and Calculus II as a junior. I also TA’d for a Calculus I class in high school.
Years later, after leaving the Navy and going back to school for mechanical engineering, I worked through the full college calculus sequence and differential equations, earning a 99% in Calculus I and 95% in Calculus II.
I’m new to tutoring professionally, but not new to math or to helping people understand it. I can also provide academic references from former math teachers and professors who have known me throughout that journey.

A genuine understanding of mathematical concepts and reasoning made me fall in love with math. I'm very fortunate to have had amazing mathematical teachers in my life. My style is a teaching of reason and logic, not memorizing a book.
