About Huma
I am a Molecular Biology and Genetics student at McMaster University with a strong interest in biology and science. I graduated high school with a 95% overall average and have previous tutoring experience working at Kumon, where I supported students with different learning styles and abilities. I understand that science can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when concepts build on one another, so I focus on making difficult material feel clear, manageable, and approachable. I am patient, encouraging, and always happy to explain something in a different way if it does not click the first time. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them become more confident and independent learners.

My approach to tutoring is personalized, interactive, and focused on helping students truly understand the material rather than simply memorize it. I start each lesson by identifying what the student is struggling with and then explain concepts in a clear, easy-to-understand way, using diagrams, examples, practice questions, and step-by-step explanations when helpful. A typical lesson may include reviewing previous material, introducing or clarifying new concepts, working through practice problems together, and ending with a quick review of what the student should focus on next. My previous tutoring experience at Kumon taught me how to adapt my approach to different learning styles and levels. I am a Molecular Biology and Genetics student at McMaster University and offer biology tutoring primarily for students in Grades 7–12, including homework help, concept review, and test preparation. I aim to create a comfortable environment where students can ask questions freely and build confidence in their abilities.
