About Marcelo
My name is Marcelo, and I am a second-year Mechanical Engineering student at McGill University with a strong academic background in Math, Further Math, Physics, and Economics at A-Level. I am French/Turkish and grew up in London, UK. Through my studies, tutoring experience, two younger siblings, and volunteering at an elementary school, I have developed the patience and the ability to communicate concepts in a clear and approachable way. I am reliable and committed to helping students reach their goals. Whether preparing for exams or strengthening foundational skills, I strive to create a supportive and motivating environment that builds confidence and academic success. I am a second year McGill student studying mechanical engineering and have taken Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Economics as A-Levels in high school. In my classes, I aim to simplify difficult physics, math, and engineering concepts into understandable, explanations. Key topics are reviewed at the start of a typical session, followed by guided practice problems and individual problem-solving with feedback. I aim to take a very hands-on approach, helping students to deepen their understanding of topics by applying real-world situations, asking questions, and explaining their reasoning. In addition, I tailor practice questions and examples to match specific exam board, course, or class requirements of each student. For middle school to early college students who wish to improve their grades, get ready for tests, or develop long-term confidence in STEM subjects.
