About Clementina

I just completed my second year at McGill University studying architecture. I've always had a passion for math, science, and the arts, which is why I love my interdisciplinary major! Besides my architectural design courses, I took a few math and physics courses in my first year, and also take history courses where I have experience writing research and argumentative papers. I've tutored students one-on-one since 2019 and enjoy working with people as each student brings their own personalities and learning styles to the table and I build a relationship with them. It is especially rewarding seeing that "aha" moment when students understand and feel confident about themselves.

Outside of academics, I love to travel and explore new cities, or to spend time outdoors. In the summer, I love going on canoe trips and relaxing on the water to recharge.

About the lesson

With five years of experience teaching students in elementary and high school, including international students and students with ADHD, I take a personalized approach to each student to see what is best for their needs. I typically explain the concept, show many examples, and try the problems together with the student, encouraging them as they learn and practice the skills. If wanted, I assign practice problems so that at the next session, they can show me their progress and ask questions that they had so that the student can take initiative to reinforce their learning. In terms of content, I work with their school curriculum, assignments, and other workbooks to help build skills, deepen understanding, practice, and apply the concepts. I can teach Math for students in Gr.1-12, as well as English and grammar for elementary and middle school students, or review essays for highschool students.
