About Jakub
I am a dedicated Maynooth University student specializing in History and Geography, with a strong focus on helping students achieve top results in the Leaving Certificate, particularly in Polish, History, and English. Alongside my degree, I have gained valuable teaching experience as an English tutor, where I developed the ability to clearly explain complex topics and adapt lessons to suit each student’s needs.
As a native Polish speaker and experienced tutor, I offer expert support for Leaving Cert Polish, helping students improve written accuracy, grammar, and exam performance. My background as a Polish–English interpreter has further strengthened my understanding of both languages, allowing me to guide students effectively at all levels.
I also specialize in Leaving Cert History, including essay writing, document questions, and RSR preparation, as well as English, where I help students improve comprehension, structure, and written expression. I understand how demanding these subjects can be, and I focus on breaking them down into clear, manageable steps.
Through my teaching experience, I have developed a wide range of notes, exam strategies, and structured lesson plans, ensuring each student leaves with clear progress and confidence. I offer personalized 60-minute History and Geography grinds for both Junior Cycle and Leaving Cert students, designed to build confidence, improve exam technique, and maximize results. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s individual level, whether they need help understanding key topics, improving essay structure, or preparing for exams.
As a university student studying History and Geography, I bring up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum along with proven exam strategies. My teaching approach focuses on breaking down complex topics into clear, manageable concepts, supported by detailed notes and structured explanations of each topic.
Students will receive extensive feedback on written work, including essays and exam questions, helping them improve structure, argument development, and time management. I also provide full curriculum overviews and targeted revision plans to ensure all key areas are covered efficiently.
Lessons are suitable for all levels, from students aiming to pass to those striving for top grades. I also offer focused exam preparation, including past paper practice, marking schemes, and techniques to maximize marks in both Junior Cycle and Leaving Cert exams.
